Ann Taylor
Spring Window
At Ann Taylor, I developed and cost-engineered the Spring 2018 window display to showcase the womenswear company’s newest collection.
My team and I knew we wanted to create a window scenario that would transport the viewer to another place- a vacation getaway.

We looked at the architectural details of interesting travel destinations, especially taking note of old structures that were worn by time and overtaken by nature. We realized the project was about juxtaposing organic forms against the systematic and structural.
Making the chosen design in wood would be both costly and challenging to assemble and transport. I led an engineering effort and proposed making them out of high-density foam with realistic wood veneer finishes. This switch not only cut material costs significantly but also allowed us to design the components as flat-packable pieces, minimizing shipping volume and on-site labor. We were able to achieve a 65% price reduction through cost-engineering the arches.

As of February 2018, the Lush Terrace window treatment was installed in Ann Taylor’s top 25 stores. It has turned the heads of passerby’s while established a new visual direction for the brand’s window expressions.
The curved panels span the entire length of each window to activate an otherwise rectilinear space.
